The Wines of  Boutari

The Boutari winery was established in1879 and it represents something very special to the Greek wine industry. It is the first winery that elevated the status of quality Greek wines among the wine growing countries in the world. Boutari winery is really a series of  six wineries situated in 6 different appellation of origin areas in Greece and is today the #1 selling Greek wine in the world. With numerous distinctions and awards the winery(ies) of Boutari specialize in producing wines from indigenous Greek grape varieties with the aspiration of continuing to be the ambassador of Greek wines in the world.

Boutari Kretikos White

The wine was born and bred on the island of Crete. Made mostly with local Vilana grapes the wine has a crystal clear and brilliant white-yellow color. The nose shows intense aromas of citrus, pineapple, peach and grapefruit. The palate is fresh, clean and very pleasant with good acidity.

Boutari Moschofileoro

The winery believes that this wine just might be the start of the next wine revolution. The color is white-yellow with green tints. It is a fresh wine, with very floral and fruity bouquet, dominated by aromas or roses, melons and spring flowers. The taste is well balanced and intense with orange blossom and grapefruit notes.

Boutari Naoussa

This wine has been a benchmark among Greece’s premium red wines for years. It is also the best selling premium red wine from Greece worldwide. It is made entirely from Xinamavro grapes. The color is deep red  and the aromas are that of olives, tomatoes, spices and mints. A balanced full-bodied wine with good acidity and a sweet flavor of vanilla, cocoa and berries.

Boutari Grand Reserve

The flagship of the Boutari winery. It is made of 100% Xinomavro and it is aged for 2 years in small oak casks and in the bottle for another 1-2 years before is allowed to enter the market. It is a wine with potential to age for 10 years or more. Deep red color and aromas of olives, cinnamon, dry figs and red forest fruits. The taste is complex, with intense flavors of dry nuts it its long aftertaste.
